Smulders has reported the load-out of the OSS Zingst and OSS Darß jackets for 50Hertz’s OST-6-1 grid connection project in the German Baltic Sea.

Power from the 927 MW Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm will be transferred through the grid connection to the 50Hertz transmission system on land once the two offshore substations are operational.

The OSS Zingst jacket was loaded out in Schiedam, while the OSS Darß jacket was loaded out in Vlissingen.

The work is being carried out through the HSI Joint Venture. Smulders HSM and Iv are responsible for engineering, procurement, construction, transport and installation, and commissioning of the topsides and jackets for both offshore substations.

The topsides are the next stage of the work.
