Huisman has signed a contract with Dajin Heavy Industry to supply four 1,200 t Heavy Lift Pedestal Cranes for two new heavy lift transport vessels under construction for Jumbo Maritime.
Each vessel will be fitted with two cranes. The order is the first for Huisman’s new Heavy Lift Pedestal Crane range, making Jumbo Maritime the launch customer for the design.
The crane range is available with lifting capacities from 180 t to 1,200 t. It combines a pedestal crane configuration with an integrated design intended to simplify servicing and reduce maintenance requirements.
The four cranes ordered for Jumbo Maritime will also be prepared for the future installation of an additional fly jib, allowing the vessels to handle a broader range of lifting operations.
A fully electric drive system will be used together with Huisman’s Power Management System. The cranes will also include an eco mode for managing energy use during operations.
The 1,200 t units will provide a main hoist capacity of 1,200 t at 25 m. Other features include vertical boom storage and a fast auxiliary hook for lifting hatch covers.
The contract continues a relationship of more than 50 years between Huisman and Jumbo Maritime, during which the companies have worked on lifting solutions for heavy transport, offshore and maritime applications.
