ADNOC Logistics & Services has placed a $900 million order with Jiangnan Shipyard for four 175,000 m³ LNG carriers scheduled for delivery in 2029.

The contract was signed in Shanghai on 10 July 2026 by Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, chief executive of ADNOC Logistics & Services, and Xiao Wenlin, chief executive of Jiangnan Shipyard.

The latest agreement increases the number of LNG carrier newbuilds ordered by ADNOC Logistics & Services to 18.

The company has already taken delivery of six 175,000 m³ LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard under an earlier programme valued at $1.2 billion. Five of those vessels are chartered to ADNOC Gas under agreements lasting up to 15 years.

The four additional vessels are also expected to operate under long-term charter agreements.

Another eight LNG carriers are under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean in South Korea. The vessels represent an investment of approximately $2.5 billion and are due to enter service in stages from 2028.

All eight have been secured under 20-year time charter agreements with ADNOC Gas.

The new contract was signed alongside the delivery of Meera, the first of four 93,000 m³ Very Large Ammonia Carriers ordered through AW Shipping, the joint venture between ADNOC Logistics & Services and Wanhua Chemical Group.

In 2024, AW Shipping ordered four Very Large Ammonia Carriers and nine Very Large Ethane Carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard under contracts worth a combined $1.9 billion. Two vessels from the programme were delivered in 2025.

Including its 50% interest in the AW Shipping newbuild programme, ADNOC Logistics & Services has invested more than $5 billion in 32 new vessels since 2022. Nine vessels have been delivered, while the remaining 23 are scheduled for delivery by 2029.
