Well-Safe Solutions and NMC Energy are working together on North Sea decommissioning projects, including the Beryl and Forties programmes for Apache North Sea.
The two companies had previously announced a decommissioning partnership covering plug and abandonment (P&A), engineering down and clean (EDC) activities and platform removal.
Their work now includes the Beryl and Forties decommissioning programmes. Well-Safe Solutions secured the Forties Field well decommissioning contract from Apache North Sea before being appointed lead contractor for the Beryl Field well decommissioning programme.
The two programmes cover more than 260 wells in total.
For the Beryl project, Well-Safe Solutions awarded NMC Energy a contract covering integration, commissioning and topside decommissioning services. Archer was separately contracted to provide platform-based drilling services and specialist technical solutions, including well services, wireline, coiled tubing and a Compact Workover Rig.
Well-Safe Solutions said in July 2026 that preparatory work was underway across subsurface activities, well engineering and project management. At the time, offshore well operations on the Beryl Bravo platform wells were due to begin in summer 2026, with subsea well decommissioning scheduled to start in 2027 as part of the multi-year programme.
NMC Energy has said its work on the Beryl and Forties programmes includes project management and specialist EPC services for EDC activities.
The companies had previously said their collaboration was intended to cover decommissioning work from P&A through EDC and platform removal.
