ECKSHIP GmbH & Co. KG has confirmed a newbuilding program that could add up to six heavy-lift vessels to its fleet from the second quarter of 2028.

Each vessel will have 15,200 dwt at 8.5 m scantling draft and is designed for project cargo and heavy lift transport. The design includes a forward-positioned bridge and two 350 mt cranes, which can be combined to provide 700 mt of lifting capacity.

The ships will feature a 114.1 m hatch and an unobstructed deck area measuring 139.0 m by 23.2 m. Adjustable tweendecks can be arranged at different heights, while tweendeck pontoons may also be installed as bulkheads to support flexible cargo configuration.

The vessels are also specified for open-top and hatch-coverless operation, with Great Lakes and IMO fittings to broaden their operating range for specialized cargo movements.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in Q2 2028, with further vessels expected to follow at short intervals thereafter.
