Seadrill has added approximately $200 million to its contract backlog through new work involving West Vela, West Capella and Sevan Louisiana in the U.S. Gulf and Malaysia.

The largest addition comes from West Vela, which has secured a one-year drilling contract in the U.S. Gulf. The program is scheduled to begin in June 2027 and represents approximately $161 million of backlog, excluding additional services.

In Malaysia, West Capella will remain contracted for an estimated additional 75 days. The extension adds approximately $26 million to backlog, excluding additional services, and keeps the rig committed through August 2027.

Sevan Louisiana will remain on its existing U.S. Gulf program for approximately another 45 days. The additional work extends the rig’s commitment through August 2026.

The three commercial developments were secured after Seadrill issued its May fleet status update.

As of 10 August 2026, Seadrill reported total contract backlog of approximately $2.9 billion.
