Drydocks World and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) have signed an agreement to establish a 50:50 joint venture to operate and expand the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) in Cochin, India.
The agreement was signed on 11 September 2026 in New Delhi by Captain Rado Antolovic, CEO of Drydocks World, and Jose V J, Chairman and Managing Director of Cochin Shipyard Limited.
Under the agreement, the joint venture will manage, consolidate and expand the ISRF. The additional capacity will enable the facility to handle a wider range of vessels for Indian, regional and international customers.
The transaction follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the companies during India Maritime Week 2025 covering cooperation in ship repair and related maritime services.
Drydocks World and Cochin Shipyard Limited will each hold a 50% stake in the new company. Initial capital will be provided through equity contributions from both partners.
The ISRF has a ship lift system and docking facilities capable of handling a range of vessel types. The partnership combines Cochin Shipyard Limited’s shipbuilding, repair and engineering capabilities with Drydocks World’s experience in vessel repair and maintenance, major conversions and offshore EPC.
