Ørsted says the 704 MW Revolution Wind offshore wind farm reached full commissioning in October and is now delivering electricity to Rhode Island and Connecticut under its offtake contracts. The company recorded the milestone in its Q3 2026 interim report. Skyborn Renewables is Ørsted’s project partner.

Installation of all 65 Siemens Gamesa SG 11.0-200 DD turbines was completed in September 2026, following the first turbine installation in September 2024. Revolution Wind began delivering electricity to the New England grid in March 2026. Its contracted output is 400 MW to Rhode Island and 304 MW to Connecticut, and the project is expected to generate enough electricity for more than 350,000 homes and businesses.

On 9 October, the Department of the Interior asked a federal court to remand the project’s construction and operations plan approval to the agency for review under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. Green Oceans, which brought the case with other plaintiffs, said the request does not itself cancel the approval and requires court action.

Ørsted also reported that all foundations are installed at its 924 MW Sunrise Wind project off New York. Turbine and inter-array cable installation, as well as commissioning of the offshore converter station, are underway. The company expects to begin turbine commissioning around the end of 2026 and still targets full commissioning in the second half of 2027.
