Petrobras’ P-80 FPSO has departed Seatrium’s Tuas Boulevard shipyard in Singapore for Brazil, where the unit is expected to begin operations at the Búzios pre-salt field in early 2027.

The P-80 has capacity to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and process 12 million cubic metres of natural gas per day. It will become the ninth of 12 planned FPSOs at Búzios, Brazil’s largest field.

According to Petrobras, the P-80 has the highest production capacity among the company’s owned platforms. The unit also incorporates technologies and digital systems designed to improve operational and energy efficiency.

Seatrium secured the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the P-80.

Búzios is already producing about 1.2 million barrels per day of oil and 48.4 million cubic metres per day of gas through eight FPSOs: P-74, P-75, P-76, P-77, Almirante Barroso, Almirante Tamandaré, P-78 and P-79.

The P-79, the eighth FPSO deployed at the field, entered operation in May 2026.

Petrobras has also ordered the P-82 and P-83, the 10th and 11th Búzios FPSOs, respectively, from Seatrium under the same EPC model.

The company is also progressing the contracting process for the 12th unit, P-91, with bids scheduled for March 2027.
