Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Ørsted have submitted offshore wind projects for Taiwan’s Round 3.3 allocation process, with two development teams filing applications before the 30 September 2026 deadline.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs said it received applications from two development teams covering two wind farm projects. The ministry did not identify the developers or projects in its announcement. Selected projects are scheduled for completion and grid connection in 2030 and 2031, while the allocation process and capacity awards are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Separate announcements from the developers identified the projects as CIP’s Fengmiao III and Ørsted’s Dadu 1.

CIP said it submitted its bid for the Fengmiao III offshore wind project at 09:30 on 30 September 2026. The submission marks the developer’s fifth consecutive participation in Taiwan’s offshore wind tender process.

The developer previously secured Fengmiao I and Fengmiao II through Taiwan’s Round 3.1 and Round 3.2 allocation processes. CIP said its Fengmiao III proposal draws on nine years of offshore wind development experience in Taiwan.

Ørsted also confirmed that it had submitted bidding documents for the Dadu 1 project under Round 3.3. The company said it intends to apply experience gained from developing nearly 2 GW of offshore wind capacity in Taiwan to the proposed project.

Round 3.3 has a planned allocation capacity of 3.6 GW. The latest process no longer includes mandatory localisation requirements, while ESG commitments have been incorporated into the selection framework.

Local reports said the proposed Fengmiao III and Dadu 1 development areas substantially overlap. Taiwan’s Energy Administration will proceed with qualification, delivery capability and other reviews before announcing the allocation results by the end of 2026.
