The keel has been laid for Wind of Energy, the second Service Operation Vessel (SOV) in a series being developed for charter to Vattenfall.

The keel laying ceremony was held at ZPMC’s shipyard as construction of the vessel progresses. Wind of Energy is being built to support offshore wind operations.

The vessel will feature hybrid propulsion, DP2 dynamic positioning and offshore access systems for operations at sea.

Following delivery, Wind of Energy will support the long-term operation and maintenance of offshore wind farms in the North Sea. The vessel is part of a series of SOVs to be chartered to Vattenfall.

Another construction milestone is also approaching for Wind of Ocean, the first vessel in the series.
