Arabian Drilling has signed an offshore drilling contract in Oman with Masirah Oil Limited and Northern Offshore Ltd, covering two firm wells and two optional wells.

The contract was signed on 17 August 2026 and marks Arabian Drilling’s entry into a new GCC market. Operations are expected to begin before the end of the third quarter of 2026.

The jack-up rig assigned to the programme has not been disclosed.

Arabian Drilling also did not disclose the contract value, but said it represents less than 5% of total revenue reported in its audited financial statements for 2025. The contract will conclude when the drilling operations are completed.

The company said the financial impact of the award is expected to be reflected in its 2026 results. No related parties are involved in the contract.

The Oman award follows the early completion of Arabian Drilling’s first international offshore drilling contract and the redeployment of the jack-up used for that campaign to another GCC country. The company has not identified the rig in its latest disclosures.

The contract comes shortly after Arabian Drilling received notices to resume operations for its remaining suspended offshore rigs in Saudi Arabia. In a 12 August 2026 disclosure, the company said the resumptions were expected to bring offshore fleet utilisation to 100% by the end of the third quarter of 2026.

A separate Masirah Oil Limited drilling programme announced on 29 January 2026 involved Northern Offshore’s Energy Emerger jack-up for three development wells at the Yumna Field in Block 50, Oman. The available disclosures do not identify Energy Emerger as the rig for the new Arabian Drilling contract, so the two awards have not been linked in this article.
