ZPMC has shipped the offshore substation topside for Phase 1 of the Tangshan Laoting Yuetuo Island Offshore Wind Farm in Hebei, China.
The module departed on 26 July 2026 after roll-on loading and sea fastening were completed in four days.
The three-story steel structure measures 45 m × 38 m × 23 m and weighs approximately 1,700 tonnes. ZPMC is responsible for construction of the topside module, jacket foundation and steel piles.
The project has a total installed capacity of 304 MW and is located in the Bohai Sea off Laoting County, Tangshan. Chinese industry reports place the centre of the project area about 15 km from shore and give the development area as approximately 34 km².
The offshore substation has a design capacity of 300 MW.
Following the shipment, offshore positioning and installation of the topside were completed on 31 July 2026, according to information published by the China Wind Energy Association citing CCCC First Harbor Consultants.
The same source described the facility as China’s first lightweight integrated offshore substation.
