Seadrill’s West Carina has secured an Indonesian drilling contract carrying a firm value of about $420 million. An estimated 880 days of work are covered, and the operator has not been named.

Mobilization is included in the value; additional services are not. Work is expected to begin in the first half of 2027, while priced options allow as many as 880 further days.

The award was announced on 12 October 2026 alongside work for three other rigs. In Malaysia, West Capella is expected to keep operating without interruption until February 2028 following the exercise of two sets of options.

The remaining options with agreed pricing add 120 days worth about $41 million. Previously unpriced options add another 120 days worth about $53 million. Neither amount includes additional services.

In Angola, Sonangol Libongos is now contracted until January 2030 after the exercise of every outstanding priced option, adding roughly three years. The extension went to Sonadrill Holding Ltd, a venture owned equally by Seadrill and a Sonangol E.P. affiliate.

Kosmos has also booked Sevan Louisiana for 25 days in the U.S. Gulf, with a November 2026 start expected.

Seadrill said contracts now cover more than 85% of the drillship days available in its fleet for 2027.
