Seatrium Offshore Renewable Services has started construction of a new offshore wind operations hub in Lowestoft, UK, to support its expanding project activity in Europe.
The facility will strengthen the company’s capacity for offshore project delivery, hook-up and commissioning, logistics, and lifecycle support services.
The Lowestoft hub will support work on four offshore converter platform projects under TenneT’s 2 GW Programme in the Netherlands and Germany. It will also serve the Sofia offshore wind farm and other offshore wind projects in the company’s pipeline.
According to Seatrium Offshore Renewable Services, the new base will provide additional space for its growing workforce and support the expansion of its onshore and offshore operations in Europe.
Seatrium is constructing several high-voltage direct current offshore converter platforms for TenneT, the Dutch and German transmission system operator, under contracts awarded in recent years.
The company’s Offshore Renewable Services business has also supported offshore construction and commissioning work on projects including RWE’s 1.4 GW Sofia offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea.
