MV Mila, the first vessel in the 14K-700-Type series, has officially joined the SAL fleet.
The multipurpose vessel is equipped with two 350 t heavy lift cranes. The cranes can operate together to handle cargo weighing up to 700 t.
SAL plans to deploy the vessel for heavy lift and project cargo operations serving the energy, offshore, infrastructure, mining and industrial sectors.
Published vessel particulars show that MV Mila has an overall length of 159.95 m, a beam of 22.80 m and deadweight of approximately 14,300 t. The vessel has two cargo holds and provides up to 3,032 m² of free deck space.
The 14K-700-Type design also has capacity for up to 953 TEU and carries Ice Class 1A notation.
Three sister vessels, MV Lina, MV Hannah and MV Pia, are expected to follow MV Mila into the SAL fleet.
