GEOxyz is conducting a geophysical survey of East Anglia Two turbine sites for ScottishPower Renewables. Following weather delays, completion is expected on 30 October 2026 if conditions allow, according to the updated notice published through KIS-ORCA on 16 October.
The 41.9-metre Geo Ocean IV is working on a 24-hour basis across approximately 218 square kilometres in the North Sea. The survey area lies about 46 kilometres from England’s eastern coast.
The work measures seabed elevation and morphology at the proposed turbine positions and captures backscatter data. A multibeam echosounder fitted to the vessel’s hull performs the measurements. The developer’s published survey details confirm that no equipment will be towed during the work.
East Anglia Two is planned as a 960 MW development with 64 SG 14-236 DD turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa, supported on monopiles. Offshore construction is scheduled for 2027, ahead of targeted commercial operation towards the end of 2028.
ScottishPower Renewables has also finished installing a pair of ducts under the Suffolk shoreline for the export cables. Installation of the first export cable is expected during summer 2027.
