The Dogger Bank B offshore wind project in the UK has passed the halfway point in turbine installation, with 49 of its planned 95 GE Vernova Haliade-X 13 MW turbines now installed.

The milestone was reported in the latest maritime operations notice issued by the Dogger Bank Wind Farm project team, covering construction activities in early October 2026.

Jan De Nul’s wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) Voltaire has been working at Dogger Bank B since installing the phase’s first turbine in March 2026. The vessel previously completed turbine installation at Dogger Bank A, the first phase of the development, in February.

The installation campaign is preparing to expand with the addition of Seaway7’s jack-up installation vessel Seaway Ventus. The vessel was scheduled to arrive at Dogger Bank B on 9 October, according to the project’s latest maritime notice as reported on 8 October.

Seaway7 secured the work under a vessel reservation agreement announced by SSE Renewables in December 2024. The agreement covers additional turbine transport and installation capacity for the Dogger Bank development.

The latest milestone follows an earlier project update in June, when Dogger Bank B reached 20 installed turbines.

Turbine component logistics for Dogger Bank B and C are being supported through Maraen Port of Nigg in Scotland. GE Vernova selected the facility as a marshalling port after previously using Able Seaton Port in Hartlepool for Dogger Bank A and the initial installation activities at Dogger Bank B.

The 1.2 GW Dogger Bank B development forms the second phase of the 3.6 GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm, jointly owned by SSE Renewables, Equinor and Vårgrønn.

The overall project comprises three phases with 277 planned turbines. Dogger Bank A and B will each have 95 Haliade-X 13 MW turbines, while Dogger Bank C will feature 87 Haliade-X 14 MW units.

Turbine installation at Dogger Bank B is expected to continue until approximately the second quarter of 2027, with installation work at Dogger Bank C scheduled to begin in 2027.
