DENZAI has completed the transport and lifting programme for a new 201-tonne pool condenser at Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited (KAFCO) in Chattogram, Bangladesh.

The transport sequence began with port handling in Italy and ocean shipment to Bangladesh. After arrival, the condenser was transferred by barge to the KAFCO site jetty before being rolled ashore at a temporary wet-dock area prepared by DENZAI on the riverbank.

The unit then continued by inland transport and underwent a skidding operation before being moved to its final installation position at the plant.

For the project, DENZAI deployed 800-tonne and 200-tonne crawler cranes, a 220-tonne all-terrain crane, eight axles of Goldhofer SPMT, an Enerpac LH400SK low-height skidding system and a jack-up/jack-down system.

The lifting scope also included the LP Steam Drum, with the final lift carried out using DENZAI’s 800-tonne crawler crane.

As part of the same contract, DENZAI removed the existing pool condenser and transferred it to an area designated by KAFCO.

The contract, announced in June 2026, covered ocean freight for the replacement condenser from Italy to Bangladesh, heavy haulage, erection and installation, as well as removal of the existing unit.
