Combi Lift has established Combi Lift Sub-Saharan Africa, setting up a regional headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, to support project logistics operations across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The new organisation, known as CL SSA, will serve industrial and infrastructure projects in sectors including energy, mining, manufacturing, renewable energy and oil and gas. Its scope covers heavy and oversized cargo movements as well as project forwarding, engineering support, customs coordination, warehousing and multimodal transport.

Sunil Shetty, Managing Director of Combi Lift India, has also been appointed Managing Director of Combi Lift Sub-Saharan Africa. Anthony Higgins will serve as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing regional operations and project execution.

A central part of the new structure is cooperation between the Johannesburg operation and Combi Lift India. The company said its Indian business already handles project cargo moving from manufacturing and project locations in India to destinations in Sub-Saharan Africa, including heavy-lift and turnkey logistics requirements.

The connection is particularly relevant as Indian EPC contractors and equipment manufacturers expand their activities in African markets. Rather than operating Johannesburg as a standalone office, Combi Lift is positioning the new unit alongside its existing Indian organisation to coordinate cargo at both the origin and regional project ends.

The Africa expansion follows continued development of Combi Lift’s presence in India, where the company has built its local operation through a partnership dating from 2023. Combi Lift also opened an Abu Dhabi office in 2025 to support project logistics and forwarding activities across the Middle East and Africa.

The Johannesburg headquarters is located in Pomona, Kempton Park, Gauteng.
