CIP has completed the installation of 99 pin piles and the offshore substation at the Fengmiao I Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan.

By late July, both export cables had also been laid, buried and pulled in. The project remains on schedule for grid connection in 2027.

The offshore substation was installed by CDWE using the heavy-lift vessel Green Jade. Fengmiao I is CIP’s third offshore wind project in Taiwan and the first to feature an offshore substation.

CIP said the project includes the world’s tallest installed jacket foundation for an offshore substation.

Taiwanese suppliers and contractors are involved in several parts of the construction programme. CTCI-M and Century Group are manufacturing pin piles and wind turbine jacket foundations.

Local fishermen from Taichung have also been engaged to provide guard vessel services and marine mammal observation during construction.

Development of the Fengmiao II Offshore Wind Farm is continuing toward its targeted grid connection in 2030.
