Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Norway-based OffshoreCrew AS, extending its offshore crewing capabilities and specialist personnel services for the maritime and offshore energy sectors.
Headquartered in Kristiansand, OffshoreCrew recruits and manages personnel for offshore oil and gas, offshore wind and subsea operations. The company maintains a database of approximately 30,000 offshore professionals and supplies qualified personnel for offshore vessels and projects, with its main operations concentrated in the North Sea.
The agreement will bring together OffshoreCrew’s specialist recruitment network and BSM’s international ship management infrastructure. The combined services will cover individual personnel assignments, crew management and full technical management for various types of offshore units.
The investment will also allow BSM to provide offshore customers with personnel for specialised positions, including dynamic positioning (DP) operators, crane operators and other technical roles requiring specific qualifications and experience.
According to BSM, the partnership is expected to accelerate the mobilisation of qualified offshore personnel and reduce response times to urgent crewing requirements, particularly in offshore wind and other energy-related operations.
Sebastian von Hardenberg, CEO of BSM, said the investment would strengthen the company’s ability to respond to customers’ requirements with greater speed and flexibility.
Javier Zahn, CEO and Managing Director of OffshoreCrew, said the partnership would help the Norwegian company serve a wider international customer base while preserving its operational flexibility and customer focus.
