ORLEN and Northland Power have completed installation of all 76 wind turbines at the 1,140 MW Baltic Power project, completing the turbine installation campaign at Poland’s first offshore wind farm.

The project is now in commissioning. Northland Power said more than one-third of the turbines are already generating electricity, with commercial operations still targeted for 2026.

Baltic Power uses 76 V236-15.0 MW turbines supplied by Vestas. The manufacturer’s firm order covers 1,140 MW and includes turbine supply, installation and commissioning.

Electricity from Baltic Power had already reached Poland’s national grid in July 2026, when 54 turbines had been installed. That milestone marked the country’s first electricity generated from offshore wind and supplied to the national grid.

Installation of the final turbine brought the largest offshore campaign carried out in Polish Baltic waters to a close. ORLEN said around 7,000 people and 110 vessels were involved in the project.

Testing continues as the turbines are progressively integrated with Poland’s power system. Each unit undergoes a series of checks, including a 240-hour reliability test, before being handed over to the operations team.

Polish industry has also participated in the project supply chain. ORLEN said more than one-third of the nacelles were manufactured at Vestas’ Szczecin facility, while Polish companies contributed to areas including steel structures, cables, foundations, substations, construction and logistics.

Once fully operational, Baltic Power is expected to produce up to 4 TWh of electricity annually, equivalent to about 3% of Poland’s current electricity demand and enough to supply more than 1.5 million households.

Northland Power said project costs remain aligned with its original expectations as commissioning continues.
