JSI Alliance Expands with New Office in Bilbao

JSI Alliance has opened a new office in Bilbao to expand its port agency and commercial services across Spain, Portugal, and North Africa, with further growth planned for Turkey and the Middle East.

Bilbao, Spain – SAL Heavy Lift and Noatum Maritime Services have announced the opening of a new JSI Alliance office in Bilbao, strengthening the partnership’s presence in Southern Europe. The new branch will provide commercial representation and port agency services across Spain, Portugal, and North Africa, while also supporting future expansion into Turkey and the Middle East.

With this step, JSI Alliance aims to deliver integrated services for its multipurpose and heavy lift fleet more effectively in the Iberian Peninsula. Terry Gidlow, CEO of Noatum Maritime Services, highlighted the significance of the move, saying, “We are delighted to combine decades of experience in international project and heavy lift shipping with this new strategic base in Bilbao.”

Dr. Martin Harren, CEO of SAL Heavy Lift, Intermarine, and Harren Group, added: “The excellent Bilbao team led by Josu Iturri, together with the collaboration of Noatum Maritime Services, will play a vital role in our future growth.”

JSI Alliance currently operates one of the world’s most capable heavy lift and project cargo fleets, with vessels able to handle loads of up to 3,000 tons. The company is also preparing to introduce five next-generation Orca Class vessels, designed to be the most modern and efficient heavy lift ships in the market. The first unit is expected to enter service within weeks.
