NEOLINE and CMA CGM have announced the first Belgian call of Neoliner Origin, with the wind-powered RoRo cargo vessel arriving at PSA Zeebrugge on 21 September 2026.
The call marks the addition of Zeebrugge to NEOLINE‘s regular transatlantic service. The Belgian port joins a rotation covering Montoir-de-Bretagne, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Baltimore and Halifax.
Adding Zeebrugge is expected to extend each rotation by only a few days without changing transit-time commitments from Montoir-de-Bretagne. A full rotation is scheduled to take five weeks in summer and six weeks in winter, with around ten rotations planned each year.
The new Belgian call also provides access to the service for cargo linked with Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and northern France.
At 136 m long, Neoliner Origin is designed to rely primarily on wind power. Two foldable SolidSail masts provide a combined sail area of 3,000 square metres, while a diesel-electric system provides auxiliary propulsion.
On the North Atlantic route, the vessel is designed to reduce fuel consumption by more than 80% compared with a conventional ship sailing at 15 knots.
