Boskalis has completed a heavy marine transport operation involving the floating dry dock Dock Titan, shipped from Cape Town, South Africa, to Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean. The unit, originating from Port Réunion, was loaded onto the semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Transshelf for the ocean passage to Réunion, located east of Madagascar.

According to the company, Dock Titan measures 127 m in length and 34 m in width. The dry dock was positioned on Transshelf’s 132 m-long and 40 m-wide deck. To accommodate the 4,327 t structure, one of the casings on the aft deck was relocated to create sufficient clearance.

The Port Réunion floating dry dock shipment is described as the fifth similar cargo move executed by Boskalis over the past year. The company said it has delivered floating dry docks to the United States, Turkey, the Bahamas—using BOKA Vanguard—and Canada, supported by Mighty Servant 3.

Boskalis added that White Marlin and Black Marlin will also be deployed to transport a floating dry dock.
