New Saipem drilling contracts worth approximately $121 million will see Saipem 10000 work off Cyprus and Scarabeo 9 off Ghana. The awards from Eni subsidiaries were announced on 27 October 2026.

Eni Cyprus Limited has selected the drillship Saipem 10000 for operations in Cyprus’s exclusive economic zone. Work is expected to begin between November 2026 and January 2027. Eni Ghana Exploration & Production Limited has contracted the semi-submersible Scarabeo 9 for drilling off Ghana. Saipem said the awards give it greater certainty over fleet deployment in 2026 and 2027.

The Ghana contract follows earlier assignments for Eni in the country. In its 21 October 2025 update, Saipem reported that Deep Value Driller had completed its Ghana campaign, while Santorini was scheduled to continue working for Eni subsidiaries in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.

That update also confirmed that Scarabeo 9 had started drilling in Libya for Eni North Africa BV after finishing work for Burullus Gas Company in Egypt. The Libya assignment was then scheduled to continue into early 2026.
