Sarens has completed the load-out of floating dock sections weighing approximately 4,000 t each at Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan” in Poland, using 168 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs).

The work was carried out for TREND Projekt as part of the construction of a new floating dock, which is expected to become one of the largest of its kind in the Baltic Sea.

The operation involved moving the dock sections from the fabrication area onto the BOA 35 barge. Sarens deployed 168 SPMT axle lines supported by six KAMAG K24ST power pack units for the heavy transport and load-out.

The use of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) enabled the large dock structures to be transferred onto the barge as part of the shipyard’s construction programme.

Following the load-out, the floating dock sections were launched into the water. The subsequent phase involves connecting the sections afloat to complete the dock structure.

The operation completes the land-based transport and load-out stage of the floating dock project in Szczecin.
