Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Offshore Engineering (QMW) and the Qingdao arm of CNPC Offshore Engineering have signed an agreement covering jacket fabrication for QatarEnergy LNG’s North Field West expansion.

The deal is the first project to proceed under the broader cooperation framework signed by the two companies in April 2026.

The companies said the work will draw on their experience in full-process deepwater jacket construction.

QMW and CNPC Offshore Engineering have previously completed nine projects together. Their past cooperation includes jackets for the Qatar Ruya EPC11 development.

The companies did not disclose the contract value, the number of jackets, the delivery schedule, fabrication milestones or the precise contractual chain.
