Trinidad Offshore Fabricators Company Limited (TOFCO) has completed the loadout of the Manatee Jacket in Trinidad and Tobago, with final sea-fastening activities now underway ahead of sailaway.

According to TOFCO, the structure is the largest jacket fabricated at its yard. The loadout follows fabrication work involving engineering, planning, lifting, inspection and coordination activities.

During fabrication, TOFCO said it focused on reducing work-related risks, including minimizing welding at height during nighttime operations. The company described this as a first for a project of this scale at its facility.

The jacket and piles were fabricated at the TOFCO yard at the La Brea Industrial Estate. Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries previously identified the Manatee Jacket as the largest platform jacket to be fabricated locally at the facility.

The structure forms part of Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited‘s Manatee gas development in Trinidad and Tobago’s East Coast Marine Area.

Following the loadout, TOFCO is carrying out final sea-fastening activities before the jacket’s sailaway.
