Ørsted Wind Power A/S has opened a tender with an estimated value of EUR 26.3 million for post-construction bird and bat monitoring linked to the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 offshore wind projects in Poland.
The monitoring scope covers bats, seabirds and migratory birds in the Natura 2000 Slupsk Bank area and the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 project areas, approximately 30 km off the Polish coast. The work also includes collision-risk assessments for bats and migratory birds.
The selected contractor is expected to conduct offshore surveys, analyse monitoring data and prepare reports required under the environmental monitoring programme. The base contract period is planned from 2027 to 2032.
Work associated with Baltica 3 is included in the tender as an option and may be activated following written notice from Ørsted. The deadline for tender submissions is 15 October 2026.
Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 are located off the Polish coast between Łeba and Ustka and have a combined planned capacity of 2.5 GW. Ørsted and PGE each hold a 50% share in the projects.
The 1.5 GW Baltica 2 project is under construction. Foundation installation has been completed, including 107 monopiles for wind turbines and four foundations for offshore substations.
Baltica 2 will use 107 14 MW wind turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa and is expected to enter operation in 2027.
The 1 GW Baltica 3 project is expected to enter operation in 2029.
