Kongsberg Maritime has secured a contract from COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore Co., Ltd. to supply integrated technology packages for two new T-class wind turbine installation vessels being built for Cadeler.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2030 and 2031. Cadeler announced the two newbuilds in August 2026 as part of its fleet expansion for future offshore wind installation work.

Under the contract, Kongsberg Maritime will provide electrical, automation and propulsion systems for both vessels. The package includes azimuth and tunnel thrusters, dynamic positioning technology, power generation and distribution systems, propulsion drives, vessel automation and control systems, and energy management equipment.

The integrated systems are intended to support operational control, vessel positioning and energy efficiency during offshore installation work.

The T-class vessels are intended for offshore wind projects involving larger next-generation turbines and foundations.

Kongsberg Maritime will work with COSCO Shipping Offshore through the design, engineering and delivery stages of the two newbuilds.

The contract continues previous cooperation between Kongsberg Maritime, Cadeler and COSCO Shipping Offshore on offshore wind vessel projects.
