Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has secured a one-year contract extension for a Small-class self-propelled, self-elevating support vessel operating in the GCC after a major National Oil Company customer exercised an existing option.
The vessel will remain in service for the customer’s offshore maintenance operations for the additional year. GMS said the contractual terms and conditions will remain unchanged. The company did not disclose the identity of the customer, the vessel name or the value of the extension.
The option was included in the original contract disclosed on 3 November 2022.
GMS classifies its self-propelled, self-elevating support vessels by size as K-Class, S-Class and E-Class, corresponding to Small, Mid and Large classes. The company currently operates a fleet of 15 vessels.
The latest extension follows another Small-class vessel contract extension announced by GMS on 17 August 2026. That agreement, awarded by a major National Oil Company in the Middle East, added 183 days to the vessel’s existing contract and included two further three-month options. GMS reported a contract backlog of $659 million with that announcement.
