Bower Offshore has purchased the platform supply vessel Songa Commander and renamed it Bower Commander, adding the PSV to its owned offshore fleet.
The company has handled the vessel’s commercial and technical management for Blystad Group since 2023. Bower Commander was built in 2010 by Hellesøy shipyard and is described as a high-end PSV.
The vessel is currently supporting drilling operations under a long-term contract with Adura. The contract runs until July 2027 and includes an extension option.
With the acquisition, Bower Offshore is continuing its move toward owning the offshore vessels in its fleet. CEO Karl Johan Bakken said the transaction forms part of the company’s strategy to expand its own tonnage and develop its integrated shipping operations in the offshore energy market.
The existing crew will remain aboard Bower Commander following the ownership change.
Bower Offshore operates six vessels serving the offshore energy sector across oil, gas and renewables in European waters.
