AESEN Pte. Ltd. and Dutch Offshore Contractors Holdings B.V. (DOC) have launched a new joint venture, Aesen DOC Cable Logistics Pte. Ltd., to address the rising global demand for subsea cable transport, storage, and logistics services. The company was officially incorporated in Singapore in September 2025.
With offshore wind and electrification accelerating worldwide, demand for high-voltage subsea cables has surged, creating supply bottlenecks, limited storage capacity, and increased need for reliable end-to-end logistics. The joint venture aims to fill this gap by combining AESEN’s extensive marine and logistics experience with DOC’s subsea cable handling expertise.
As part of its investment strategy, Aesen DOC Cable Logistics is building a fleet of carousels ranging from 5,000 to 12,000 metric tonnes to support major offshore wind farms and interconnector projects. The venture will operate with the largest combined transportation barge and carousel fleet globally, giving it unmatched scale in the subsea cable logistics market.
The company will maintain strategic bases across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, offering flexible solutions including mid- to long-term cable storage at manufacturer sites, project locations, or intermediate logistics bases.
According to AESEN and DOC, the joint venture will provide developers and operators with the resources to deliver the next generation of offshore energy projects, backed by in-house project management, engineering teams, operators, and specialized spooling crews.
