Cadeler has officially introduced Wind Ally, the ninth vessel in its offshore wind fleet and the company’s first of the new A-class series. The naming ceremony took place in Qidong, China, where the vessel was christened by its godmother, Leire Ayestaran.

The name Wind Ally carries dual significance: it reflects Cadeler’s role as a trusted partner in the offshore wind industry and symbolizes an alliance with nature, harnessing wind energy to support a greener future.

As the first of three A-class vessels, Wind Ally is designed to handle some of the largest foundation structures in the offshore wind sector. It boasts a 5,600 m² deck and a payload capacity exceeding 17,600 tons. Alongside Wind Ally, Cadeler plans to add Wind Ace in 2026 and Wind Apex in 2027. Both Wind Ally and Wind Ace will be able to transport and install six sets of 2XL monopile foundations per voyage, significantly reducing project transit requirements and improving operational efficiency.

Following the ceremony, Wind Ally will soon be delivered and begin its maiden voyage, marking another step in Cadeler’s strategy to expand capacity and strengthen its role in enabling the global renewable energy transition.
