Empire Energy, a renewable energy project management company, has entered into a partnership with global logistics provider Kuehne+Nagel. The collaboration aims to simplify and enhance the execution of offshore wind projects by combining Empire Energy’s sector expertise with Kuehne+Nagel’s supply chain and transport capabilities.
Under this agreement, the two companies will provide end-to-end support for offshore wind developers and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). Their joint services are expected to include turbine assembly, commissioning and operations, handling of heavy and oversized cargo, port staging, as well as international freight forwarding.
Empire Energy’s president, Mike Milledge, stated that the partnership seeks to offer predictability and reduce risks for complex projects. He emphasized that clients want assurance that large-scale offshore wind initiatives will be executed with both precision and vision.
Felipe Cecilio, Global Project Logistics Solutions Manager at Kuehne+Nagel, highlighted the need for specialized logistics in offshore wind, noting the demands of heavy-lift transport, complex supply chains, strict deadlines, and tailored solutions to meet project requirements.
