Chipolbrok’s multipurpose vessel Chełmoński has begun its maiden voyage carrying 11 sets of wind turbine components bound for South Africa, The Port Journal reported on 3 November.

The 182 m vessel entered service in September 2026 and loaded its first cargo in China under charter to HongFa Shipping, according to the report. It said discharge at Saldanha Bay was scheduled for early November and the maiden voyage would conclude at Lobito. Chipolbrok America’s current schedule lists Chełmoński as open at Lobito around 20 November.

Chełmoński is part of a four-vessel series built by ZPMC in Qidong, China. Its sister vessel, Wyspiański, was the first ship in the series. Chipolbrok’s published specifications list three 350-tonne deck cranes, with tandem lifting capacity of up to 700 tonnes, and a forward-positioned superstructure. The company’s vessel announcement gives the vessels an overall length of 182 m.
