The Esvagt board now includes Sven Utermöhlen, who previously headed RWE Offshore Wind as CEO. Esvagt, a vessel operator based in Denmark, confirmed his appointment in a social media update on 21 October 2026.

Utermöhlen’s offshore wind career spans 20 years. Esvagt said that experience would support the development of its marine services business for wind farms. Its activities include service operation vessels (SOVs), offshore support and the transfer of crews and other personnel.

Utermöhlen became CEO in January 2023 after holding operational management positions in RWE’s offshore wind business. He chose not to extend his contract and departed on 30 September 2026.

RWE had outlined the succession arrangements in a management announcement dated 5 May 2026. It named Tobias Keitel, then Chief Technology Officer, to take over on 1 October 2026 and said Utermöhlen would remain an adviser to its offshore wind business for six to twelve months after leaving.
