Marine Equipment Solutions (MES) has won an order for two Poseidon Jackup MES-C7 platforms, giving the system its first commercial contract. Both units are due to be deployed in Canada.

The platforms will support a project being carried out by an international contractor. MES has not disclosed the customer or the project involved.

The Canadian assignment will also represent the first commercial deployment of the Poseidon Jackup MES-C7. MES had previously invested in introducing the platform to the North American market.

Designed for marine and nearshore construction applications, the modular MES-C7 has a deck load capacity of 440 tonnes. The platform is Jones Act-compliant, U.S. Coast Guard-approved and RINA-classed.

MES said the platforms are offered through its partnership with Combifloat, combining jackup technology with MES equipment expertise and technical support.

The first order covers two MES-C7 platforms. MES is increasing production capacity and developing further jackup platforms in different sizes and configurations.

The company said the Poseidon Jackup programme forms part of its specialized marine construction equipment portfolio. The first two MES-C7 units are being prepared for deployment.

Marine Equipment Solutions’ official announcement provides the details of the contract and deployment.
