Sarens has relocated two ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes from Bremerhaven to Wilhelmshaven, Germany, in an operation covering load-out, marine transport and final positioning.

Each crane weighs 1,865 tonnes and measures 84 m high and 145 m long. Sarens was responsible for moving the two units between the German ports and positioning them at their destination.

The transfer supports additional terminal capacity and future port operations in Wilhelmshaven, according to Sarens.

The crane relocation comes after container volumes at Wilhelmshaven reached a new level in 2025. Eurogate Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven handled its 1,000,000th TEU of the year on 18 September 2025, marking the first time in the terminal’s 13-year history that annual throughput had passed 1 million TEU, according to JadeWeserPort.
