Total Movements has completed the door-to-port transportation of six gas processing units (GPUs) for one of the Middle East’s largest gas production projects.

The cargo had a combined volume of about 12,800 cbm, with the heaviest unit weighing 1,400 t. The units were moved from the supplier’s facility in India to the Middle East.

The scope covered cargo pick-up using specialized axle configurations, transport to the load-out jetty, Roll-On loading onto two dedicated deck carrier vessels, river-sea transit, and Roll-Off discharge at the destination port.

The operation required the handling of ultra-heavy cargo within critical tidal windows, while maintaining vessel stability for the 1,400 t unit and securing the cargo for sea transportation.

The project team applied customized axle arrangements, vessel load distribution analysis, detailed tidal planning, and Marine Warranty Surveyor-approved sea-fastening calculations. The full operation was completed safely and on schedule under health, safety, and environmental standards.
