The BOKA Vanguard has delivered the “East End” floating dry dock to Grand Bahama Shipyard, completing a heavy-lift operation that started when Boskalis’ project team loaded the cargo in Qingdao, China. The dry dock, measuring 335 m in length, extended 44 m beyond the stern and 17.5 m ahead of the bow during loading, illustrating the scale of the transport managed by the world’s largest semi-submersible vessel.
The project demonstrated the impact of the vessel’s 10.3 m widening carried out in 2024. With its casings now set 80 m apart, the ship accommodated the 75 m-wide dry dock securely on deck, reaffirming its capacity to move oversized offshore and shipyard structures with precision.
Upon arrival, Grand Bahama Shipyard confirmed that the East End dry dock had reached the facility. The shipyard noted that the new asset strengthens its repair and conversion footprint along the US East Coast. A second dry dock remains scheduled for delivery in Q2 2026.
