Worley has secured a five-year renewal of its engineering, procurement and construction framework agreement with CNOOC International covering three operated assets in the UK North Sea.

The renewed agreement covers the Scott, Buzzard and Golden Eagle fields on the UK Continental Shelf. Worley will provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, completions and decommissioning services, including equipment replacements, brownfield modifications and larger project scopes.

The companies have worked under the framework for 12 years. During that period, Worley said it completed more than 1,100 scopes of work and recorded more than five million work hours without a Lost Time Incident.

All three assets are operated by CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of CNOOC International.

Buzzard is located about 100 km northeast of Aberdeen and produced first oil in 2007. Golden Eagle lies about 111 km northeast of Aberdeen and began production in 2014, while the Scott Area is approximately 185 km northeast of Aberdeen and commenced production in 1993.

The latest renewal continues a series of EPC agreements between the two companies. In April 2021, Worley received a two-year extension covering the same three North Sea assets. That contract involved more than 200 onshore and offshore personnel and covered work from front-end engineering and design through commissioning.

Under earlier work for CNOOC, Worley’s Aberdeen project office carried out the design and engineering for a 474-tonne module for the Buzzard Phase II development, while Rosenberg Worley fabricated the module in Stavanger.
