Seadrill added about $260 million to its backlog after securing two ultra-deepwater drillship awards from LLOG Exploration Company for West Neptune and West Vela in the U.S. Gulf.

Seadrill has secured a $480 million extension for drillship West Polaris with Petrobras, supporting continued work at Brazil’s Búzios field beyond 2028.

Seadrill said Sonadrill has secured a contract extension for Sonangol Quenguela in Angola after a seven-well priced option was exercised, adding about 480 days through June 2028.

Seadrill has named Samir Ali as President and Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. The former Chief Commercial Officer succeeds Simon Johnson as the offshore drilling contractor moves forward after securing new work, including a one-year priced option with Equinor offshore Brazil.

Seadrill’s 12,000-ft drillship West Vela has secured two new one-well contracts in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, adding more than four months of firm term and extending operations into the second half of 2026.
