Fugro has won an East Anglia Two survey contract from Cadeler covering seabed inspections after monopile installation at the UK’s 960 MW offshore wind farm. The campaign is due to start in early 2027.
An FCV 600 work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) will operate from a Cadeler installation vessel and examine 64 foundation sites. The findings will be used to check the installed foundations against project plans, support quality checks and inform assessments of long-term foundation integrity.
Cadeler’s wider installation scope covers transport and installation of all 64 monopiles and turbines. Its A-class vessel Wind Ace will work with an O-class vessel, as outlined in the company’s installation plans.
ScottishPower Renewables, an Iberdrola Group company, is developing East Anglia Two about 33 kilometres offshore from Suffolk. The project will use 64 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD turbines, with commercial operations expected in late 2028.
The survey award adds to Fugro’s work with Cadeler at Ørsted’s 2.9 GW Hornsea 3 project. There, Fugro personnel on Wind Ally provide positioning services and construction support during monopile installation.
According to Fugro, the Hornsea 3 team uses its InclinoCam system to measure monopile tilt and vertical alignment as installation proceeds.
