Stena IceMAX has finished a three-well campaign in Egypt, covering two wells that progressed through completion and testing, together with an exploration well in a new field in the Western Mediterranean region.
The drillship operated across water depths from 256 m to 2,810 m during the programme, setting new shallowest and deepest operating records for Stena IceMAX.
At 256 m, the vessel worked in the shallowest water depth it has encountered to date. The operation involved narrow watch circles, complex riser analysis and enhanced DP protocols.
The campaign also took Stena IceMAX to a water depth of 2,810 m, the deepest at which the drillship has operated. At that depth, 112 joints of marine riser were run during BOP deployment.
The programme included multiple operational scopes, equipment installations and different well types. Stena IceMAX achieved 99.5% uptime and finished the overall campaign ahead of plan.
With the Egypt campaign completed, Stena IceMAX is set to remain in the region and begin work for another client.
Chris Carbaugh, Chief Operations Officer, said the campaign was supported by coordination, planning and cooperation between the teams, client and partners involved.
