Hitachi Energy has loaded four transformers at Spain’s Port of Motril for shipment to Baltimore in the United States. Manufactured in Córdoba, the single-phase units each have a capacity of 425 MVA and constitute the first consignment in a larger delivery programme.

Jumbo Vision, operating within JSI Alliance, received the cargo using its two shipboard cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 400 tonnes. In an account of the operation, Iñigo Urbel identified the shipment as Hitachi Energy’s first transformer export through Motril and reported that loading met the planned schedule with no incidents.

ERHARDT Projects coordinated the operation and is also responsible for arranging inland delivery in the US. EGODI Transportes Especiales carried the transformers by road from the Córdoba manufacturing facility to the port, where Consignaciones y Estibas Motril (CE Motril) supported port logistics.

The Port Authority of Motril confirmed the Baltimore-bound shipment in its announcement dated 14 October 2026. The authority said the export arrangements include an authorised area for storing transformers at the bulk cargo quay before loading for overseas transport.
