The load-out of the OSS Jasmund for the 300-MW Windanker offshore wind project has been completed by HSM Offshore Energy BV and Mammoet in the German sector of the Baltic Sea, around 100 km off the Lubmin coast.
The 4,500-t topside, built at HSM’s Stormpolder yard, measures 48 m x 33 m x 17.5 m. A matching 4,500-t jacket, fabricated by Smulders at its Vlissingen facility, was prepared alongside it for barge transport to the Windanker site. These structures represent the first of three offshore substations that the HSI consortium is supplying to 50Hertz.
To support both transfer and marine transport, the consortium developed a specialized grillage to protect the structural integrity of substation components and optimize load distribution. In the final load-out stage, Mammoet moved the topside onto Heerema’s H-408 barge using 240 axle lines of SPMT, bringing the total weight to 5,100 t with the grillage installed.
