Global heavy lift specialist Mammoet has announced a strategic partnership with UK-based engineering company Tugdock, aimed at advancing innovative solutions for heavy transport and offshore construction. The collaboration focuses on scaling the application of the Tugdock Submersible Platform (TSP) technology across a range of maritime industries.

The patented TSP system, built on modular, road-transportable units fitted with vertical air buoyancy cylinders, can be assembled into platforms up to 120m x 120m in size. It provides cost-effective and flexible alternatives to traditional drydocks and barges, particularly in locations with limited port infrastructure.

Through this partnership, Mammoet and Tugdock aim to deliver new methods for offshore wind projects, heavy industrial load-outs, and the installation of large-scale infrastructure. By combining Mammoet’s extensive experience in heavy transport and lifting with Tugdock’s modular platform technology, the two companies expect to reduce costs, improve flexibility, and enhance sustainability for complex marine operations.

According to Mammoet, the agreement is set to accelerate innovation in offshore logistics and provide clients with solutions that overcome port limitations while ensuring safer, more efficient project execution. A Tugdock spokesperson added that the TSP offers “a breakthrough approach to transporting and assembling oversized structures, expanding the possibilities for offshore construction.”

This partnership reflects a wider trend in the offshore and heavy lift sectors, as companies increasingly seek scalable, flexible, and environmentally conscious solutions to meet the rising demand for offshore energy and infrastructure projects.
